Breaking: Giancarlo (Mike) Stanton From Now On

According to Joe Capozzi, Mike Stanton will now be called by his birth name Giancarlo Stanton from here on out. The article goes on to mention that Giancarlo decided to go by Mike(his middle name) in grade school when teachers kept mispronouncing his name.

“It got really annoying having seven classes having to correct seven different people every single day.Mike is part of my middle name so it was the easiest (solution). But I never changed it because I didn’t like it.“I figure if I have a unique name like that, I shouldn't hide it.’’

 

 

 

 

He won’t mind if fans still refer to him as Mike, but in every lineup card, scorecard, baseball card and over the loud speaker, you’ll only hear GIANCARLO. I think it’s also appropriate to mention that Marlins setup man Juan Carlos Oviedo will not be called Leo Nunez anymore as well.
